Barrel-shaped, tightly woven wicker basket.

Circular form w/ thicker ribs than weave. Cross-hatch bottom and lower sides. Openwork diamonds above. Rim is extension of diamond pattern.

Canvas covered trunk w/ slightly domed hinged lid. Compartmented interior w/ removable tray.

Flax spinning wheel

Three splayed legs; elaborate ring and baluster turned forms. Plain rectangular base, grooved on both sides. Newer oak wheel w/ turned spokes. Turned rods which attach wheel to base are singed or burned. Flywheel supported by elaborately turned supports.

Clock reel

Crude pegged construction. Winder has four spokes. Hand-carved, notched gears, supported between rectangular posts w/ chamfered corners. Front feet are cut from single piece of wood w/ rounded shoulders. Some evidence of black paint.

Andirons

Two elongated pad feet w/ spurred cabriole legs which support a central shaft of columnar ring and ball shapes, surmounted by a conical finial.

Bellows

Wooden handles decorated in yellow, black and gold on deep red background on one side w/ fruit and leaf motif. Metal fittings and tip.

Machine-stitched construction. Thirteen red and white stripes, each a separate panel sewn together. Thiry-seven white linen stars sewn on by hand. 6 even rows of six stars each w/ a single star inserted at right upper corner. Hand embossed at hem: "J.M. Dalton," Also, "D" at bottom right corner.

Purse

Bag-like purse consisting of saddle-shaped cardboard front and back. Covered w/ cream-colored satin, enclosing a satin body w/ hand-sewn seams. Sides of woven design w/ yellow and green shadow stripes, enclosing a stripe of floral sprigs. Pink silk ribbon handles.
